Window guide

Triple pane windows

Three glass panes and two insulating cavities — comfort, quieter rooms, and a stronger case in cold provinces.

What to know

  • Compare Energy Rating and U-factor for the complete product, not a centre-of-glass claim.
  • The comfort and noise case is often clearer than a simple payback spreadsheet.
  • Heavier glass needs hardware and balances rated for the weight.

What you actually buy

Triple glazing puts two gas-filled cavities between three panes, usually with Low-E coatings. Rooms feel less cold next to the glass, condensation risk drops, and street noise drops a notch. In cold provinces the energy case is stronger than in coastal B.C.

The marketing label is not the comparison. Ask for the certified whole-product U-factor and Energy Rating for the size you are buying.
